A Craft That Brings the Past to Life
Welcome to Galician Workshop – a craft shop born from a childhood passion for knighthood and medieval battles.
My fascination with the Middle Ages began in school when I read books about knights and crafted my own armor—first from cardboard, then from thin metal sheets. My friends and I would reenact sieges in our backyard, storming an unfinished house as if it were a real castle, armed with wooden swords, spears, and makeshift armor.
Later, I joined the "Normans" historical reenactment club, where I sewed my first medieval costume and sold my first shield. My childhood friend and I, who had once fought side by side in our backyard battles, started producing medieval shields together, launching our first store, Normans Workshop.
However, after russian invasion, many club members joined the military, and the club ceased its activities. But our craft did not disappear—it transformed into Galician Workshop, named after our homeland, Galicia.
Today, Galician Workshop unites people from different parts of Ukraine—historical reenactors, medieval combat fighters, and even active-duty soldiers. Together, we continue reviving the spirit of the Middle Ages by crafting armor, clothing, and accessories for reenactors and sportsmen alike.
